Lek City Case is a post-grunge, southern rock band created in Burgas in 2013 when Ivan Petkov and Valeri Valkanov gathered to play for fun. Later the bass player Slavi Boykov joined them, which marked the beginning, and the foundations of the group were laid.
In 2015 the drummer Ivan Yankov also joined, and the band started playing a repertoire of covers. Their first concert was in the club “Бар без име” (Bar without name). Three months later, the group was struck by a tragedy – their bassist Slavi passed away. At the end of the year after the tragedy, a new member was found, and the band performed a concert in the memory of their deceased colleague.
In 2017 the musicians started working on original material. They first created a demo recording of “Doreen,” which participated in the “Musical Revolution” contest. The track was also broadcasted on Radio Z Rock.
In 2018 changes in the composition of the band happened again, but the work didn’t not stop.
2019 is the year when Lek City Case got serious about creating new songs and participated in several local festivals such as July Morning Fest, Lokum Fest Burgas, and many others.
In 2020 Lek City Case recorded and released their first debut single “Broken” produced and recorded at Audioslot in Sofia by Vasko Raykov (Odd Crew). In December, the single entered the “Reynaers Top 30” chart on Z Rock Radio. A music video for the song was created at the beginning of 2021.
In 2022 the group participated in the well-known festivals “Rebel Rebel” in Sofia and “Hills of Rock” in Plovdiv.
Several more singles were released by the end of 2022: Head Error, Doreen, Insane and New Dawn.
The majority of the songs from the Lek City Case album reached the number one spot on the Z-rock radio chart.
They released their first album “Seven” in 2023, on their 10th anniversary. The album achieved significant success, with 5 of its 6 singles reaching number one on the Z-Rock radio rock chart for Bulgarian music. Lek City Case’s album features popular figures from the Bulgarian scene, including Vasko Raykov (Odd Crew), Bobo (Bobo and The Gang), Vladimir Mihailov (SLNG, Rewind), Mihaela Mihailova (Rewind, Siluet), Maria Dyulgerova (Siluet) and others.
